Josephine Tournier Ingram is an American Artist, with French duel citizenship. Her parents immigrated from Provence, France and Schönfeld, Germany. Josephine was born in the United States and raised in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.
At the age of 18, Josephine earned a prestigious Art Scholarship to Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California, where she dedicated herself to honing her craft. In 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Art, marking the beginning of her profession in the Arts.
Upon graduation, Josephine was hired as a full time Artist and Graphic Designer for the legendary Powell-Peralta Skateboards. She left a lasting mark when she redesigned the company’s logo. She created hundreds of designs and illustrations for all of their skateboard brands and apparel. Most rewarding was launching their first female skateboard line, featuring iconic athletes such as Bethany Hamilton (featured in People Magazine).
Josephine's entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish her own clothing brand, Ecozuzu, which gained prominence and recognition on various platforms (including Entourage HBO, Planet Green, Pure London, and Pop Sugar). Her designs were also sold at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art store and featured in Santa Barbara Magazine, Santa Barbara Independent, and Santa Barbara News Press.
In addition, Josephine served as an Adjunct Professor of Graphic Design and Art at Westmont College, as well as Santa Barbara City College, MAD (Multimedia Arts and Design Academy) at Santa Barbara High School, and the Gaede Institute for the Liberal Arts summer program.
Josephine’s dedication to her community has led her to serve as a member of the Art Council at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum of Art, Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and current Planning Committee Member for Calm at Heart.
For the past decade, Josephine Tournier Ingram has focused her time on creating Abstract and Impressionist paintings on large gallery wrapped canvases, as well as Japanese watercolors with graphite on paper. Her works have been included in art galleries, exhibits, and private collections around the globe.
Josephine is deeply inspired by the vivid colors and textures she sees in the nature and landscapes of Santa Barbara, California, where she resides.
